SURINAME : BALLAST NEDAM bags €25 million contract in SURINAME

Ballast Nedam, construction and infrastructure specialist based in Netherlands, has been awarded a contract worth €25 million for carrying out expansion works at a refinery located in Suriname. Expansion works aims at doubling the processing capacity at Tout Lui Faut Refinery to 15,000 barrels per day.

The contract was awarded by the state oil company of Suriname, Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname. Ballast Nedam will be responsible for the general civil and steel piling works. Work is scheduled to start in April. has awarded.

As per the deal, the company will have to supply and establish 373 steel piles, process around 28,800 cubic metres of concrete, as well as to take up related earthworks for the establishment of expansion operations of the refinery.

According to Ballast Nedam, the project was in line with its strategy of focusing on integrated projects and mainly on the niche markets of industrial construction, hospitals, offshore wind turbines, secondary raw materials and alternative fuels.
