Harris Corporation announced that it has secured orders worth $4.8 million from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for Falcon III® AN/PRC-152A handheld and AN/PRC-117G manpack tactical radios.

According to the company, these radios offer DoD forces with wideband networking for enhanced situational awareness and command and control.

George Helm, president, Department of Defense business, Harris RF Communications said, “This order provides the DOD with field-proven radios that will deliver mission-critical voice, video and data from the networked battlefield to its warfighters operating at the edge. Our Falcon III® radios are enabling unprecedented communications among U.S. forces.”

The radios collectively provide battlefield networking capabilities to meet the needs of the entire combat team, from brigade to squad and on to the individual dismounted soldier.

The AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A are next-generation software-defined radios, offering voice, video and data communications, facilitating network-enabled missions through advanced applications like streaming video and collaborative chat.
