UNITED STATES : Northrop Grumman gets $20 million deal from US Army

Publish Date : 30-Jan-2012

Northrop Grumman Corp. obtained up to $20 million deal from US Army.

This 5-year deal is for ground sensor systems with cameras which can continuously supervise and photograph areas of interest. This deal is with Northrop’s electronic systems sector business in Xetron campus in Sharonville.

According to Mike Coster, spokesman of Northrop Grumman, the unattended sensors are activated by ground motion or movement of metallic objects nearby. They comprise cameras which can be remotely programmed and can detain images day or night for transmission worldwide. Nearly 1,000 of the Scorpion sensors are implemented across the world. The unattended, battery-powered systems are utilized for base perimeter security in addition to supervising remote areas where US doesn’t have deployment of personnel.
