Publish Date : 02-Feb-2012

Siemens Energy has obtained a major supply order from Nareva Holding.

As per this deal, Siemens Energy will provide a total of 44 turbines for Haouma and Foum El Oued wind energy projects in Morocco. It will also manage the delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. The order also covers a 5-year service contract for every project. The wind turbines will have a combined capacity of 100MW.

The Haouma wind farm will be constructed in northern Morocco with 22 units of Siemens SWT-2.3-93 turbine while Foum El Oued wind farm will be constructed in the municipality of Laayoune in southern Morocco with 22 units of SWT-2.3-101 turbine. Both these plants are likely to start commercial operation by the middle of 2013.

“These two orders mark Siemens Wind Power’s entry on the African wind market and clearly show that our internationalisation strategy is successful,” said Felix Ferlemann, CEO of Siemens Wind Power Division.
