AUSTRALIA : CONSTRUCTION work on $68 million Rydges Hotel Project started at SYDNEY AIRPORT
Publish Date : 06-Feb-2012
Construction work has been started on a Rydges Hotel Project at Sydney Airport\'s international terminal. The four star hotel project is worth $68 million.
Construction firm Denwol Group is developing the facility, which will have 317 rooms, along with bar, restaurant and a gym. It is scheduled to be in service in 2013.
CEO of Sydney Airport, Kerrie Mather, said, “This hotel meets demand by international tourists as well as business travellers for convenient accommodation at Sydney Airport. The gateway will be welcoming two new international airlines - Air Asia X and Scoot - later this year and a new hotel at the international terminal enhances Sydney as a premier destination for inbound travel.”
According to Mather, last year, Sydney Airport\'s international terminal served over 11.6 million passengers traveling to and from the airport, registering an increase of 3% as compared with the earlier years figures. He added, “Rydges Hotel will be well-placed to cater to this growth.”
