GEORGIA : Georgia starts to build 15 new hydropower plants

Manana Manjgaladze, a spokesman for the President of Georgia has announced that the work of building 15 new hydropower plants will be launched in some areas of the country soon.
He stated : \"It is a continuation of the policy which the Government of Georgia has been implementing since 2003. It is creating even greater energy independence.\"
According to him, the project will create jobs for 13000 people in 2012.
The spokesman added : \"Our goal is to ensure that the country won\'t return to the past, to the problems that affected all of us and which seriously disturbed us seven to eight years ago and remained unresolved for many years. It was a lack of electricity and gas, cold and darkness\".
