Huawei has announced its plans to award original equipment manufacturer deals of worth $6 billion to Qualcomm, Broadcom and Avago.
The deals come under Huawei\'s long term commitment to US market, where the company is experiencing huge trouble from government. U.S. intelligence probe will help Huawei and ZTE to prove themselves.
According to Huawei, the 3-year OEM deals will directly and indirectly generate over tens of thousands of job opportunities for US business.
Chen Lifang, Senior Corporate VP of Huawei, said, \"This procurement agreement reaffirms Huawei\'s determination to deliver on its promise to be a local economy contributor, and is a demonstration of confidence in the long-term relationships we have cultivated with our local high-tech partners.\"
Bryan Ingram, SVP and GM of Wireless Semiconductor Division of Avago Technologies, said, \"Huawei is widely recognized as a driver of innovation in the ICT industry and we are honored to expand this relationship to deliver even greater value to our customers.\"
Huawei US has 13 regional offices in Atlanta, Chicago, San Diego and other metropolitan cities. It has seven R&D centers. Its US operation has more than 1,700 professionals and support staff.
Cristiano Amon, SVP of Qualcomm, said, \"Qualcomm is pleased to be working with Huawei, supplying our leading family of Snapdragon processors and multimode broadband modem products, and we look forward to Huawei\'s continued success.\"
