Defense giant General Dynamics Corp.'s business arm, Electric Boat Corp., has won a $9.3 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide support services for Virginia-class program.

The deal will see Electric Boat supporting the financial year 2017 critical path procurement through purchase of partial material for Virginia Payload Module tube installation.

The contract work is slated for completion by Apr 2018 and will be carried out in Groton, CN.

The company will use the financial year 2017 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds.
