China,France,Germany : AIRBUS seals a 140-jet deal with CHINA worth USD$22bn at list prices

European aircraft giant Airbus this week has agreed a mega deal for the delivery of 140 airplanes to China.

The newly signed aircraft supply agreement is worth more than USD$22 billion at catalog prices.

Signed with the China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS), the general terms agreement covers 100 units of A320-family jets and 40 units of A350 aircraft.

The procurement of the new aircraft will be carried out for a number of China-based airline companies.

Airbus Chief Executive Tom Enders has signed the agreement in Berlin with CAS Executive VP Sun Bo.

The signing event has taken place during the visit of President Xi Jinping of the Republic of China with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Airbus has estimated that the number of global passenger aircraft fleet, with capacity of over 100 seats, will grow twofold in the next two decades to more than 40,000 airplanes, with estimated annual growth of 4.4% in the traffic.

The Chinese market, as per the Airbus Global Market Forecast for 2017-2036, will be getting the top rank in the global list.
