Indonesia : Transport Ministry Supports KPK in Tanjung Emas Port project investigation

The Ministry of Transportation, has announced in relation to the legal procedure against the Directorate General of Sea Transportation Tonny Budiono, that it supports the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in law enforcement efforts.

Acting Head of Communications and Public Information Bureau at Transportation Ministry Hengki Angkasawan said the ministry fully supports the anti-graft commission, including investigative audits of dredging works in Tanjung Emas Port and other projects.

Hengki said, "Transportation Ministry will provide full support to the KPK's law enforcement process, including investigative audits of dredging projects at Port of Tanjung Emas and on other projects."

The Ministry of Transportation fully supports the KPK by preparing the required data for further legal procedure.

For information, the budget ceiling of 2017 dredging projects within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation amounts to IDR320.6 billion ($22.4 million). The budget is for dredging in 9 port locations.

The budget amount to dredge Tanjung Emas Port is IDR47.69 billion. Meanwhile the contract value is IDR45.17 billion with the current position of financial and physical realization reaching 100 percent.
