Publish Date : 03-Mar-2012

Phigenics has secured a $1 million dollar contract from the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service for Energy Management Planning and Strategies (SIN 871-202) and Water Conservation (SIN 871-210).

This would allow U.S. Federal Government facilities who seeks for enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and safety of their potable and utility water systems, and/or to check issues in relation with waterborne pathogens, like Legionella, better access to Phigenics broad range of Smart Water Management Services.

Ashton McCombs, President of Phigenics said, “This award represents an important advancement in water management. This will enable Federal Government facilities to achieve new standards of performance in operating efficiency and safety with their physical plant operations.”

“Each year between 8,000 and 18,000 people are hospitalized with Legionnaires’ disease in the U.S.,” stated, Bill McCoy, PhD, CTO of Phigenics, and Chairman of the ASHRAE Standard 188P Committee – Prevention of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems.

McCoy added, “With impending new standards for preventing Legionellosis, important work lies ahead for Federal Government facilities and Phigenics is now in an excellent position to meet their needs.”

Phigenics is an innovative water management company that meets the increasingly complex needs of facility owners and managers to improve overall water safety while reducing operational (water, chemical, energy) and capital costs.
