United States : Spokane firm wins contract to build Crescent Bar WwTP
Publish Date : 16-Oct-2017
A building company out of Spokane has won the contract for the construction of Grant PUDs Crescent Bar waste water treatment plant.
The PUD has agreed to pay Clearwater Construction & Management LLC $3.27 million for the construction of the facility.
UD employees said the bid from Clearwater Construction was the lowest and best of the 10 bids received and comes in at $130,000 under the engineers initial cost estimate.
The islands current wastewater treatment system is obsolete and undersized to handle current demand. The new system, a mandate of the PUDs federal license to run Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams, will be providing wastewater treatment to both the Crescent Bar Recreation Area and Crescent Bar leaseholders.
Work on the new system will start by the end of this month and be completed in November 2018.
