UNITED STATES : First Solar signs deal with NRG Energy to construct 26 MW Solar Project

An agreement is been signed between NRG Energy Inc. and First Solar Inc., where in First Solar will built NRG\'s 26 MW Avra Valley solar project near Tucson, Ariz.
As per a 20-year power purchase agreement, generated electricity from the Avra Valley project will be sold to Tucson Electric Power.
The project will feature thin-film photovoltaic technology of First Solar, mounted on the company\'s single-axis tracker system.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to commence during this month, will generate employment for around 200 people. Work is likely to conclude by the end of the year.
