AUSTRALIA : EMERSON inks $67 MILLION deal to supply equipment for GORGON project

Publish Date : 15-Mar-2012

Emerson announced that it has inked a deal worth $US67 million to supply equipment at the $43 billion Gorgon liquefied natural gas project.

As per the Australian Financial Review, Emerson will deliver supply control valves and valve actuators to regulate gas flow at the project.

Chevron operates the Gorgon Project, Australia’s largest single resource project. The project is a joint venture comprising the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric Power.

“I am expecting the company to secure more contracts within the region following this latest agreement,” said Emerson chief executive David Farr.

The project is the second Australian tender Emerson has secured in six months.

The company announced that it has bagged a $10 million tender in October to build 10 multi-purpose data and training centres for the country’s national broadband network.
