The Ministry of Education (MoE) has awarded three textbooks publishing and printing deals to Sasbadi Holdings Bhd for Year 3 of the Chinese primary schools in an agreement, worth RM6.53 million.

Sasbadi added its directly-owned subsidiary Sasbadi Sdn Bhd (SSB), has accepted two letters of acceptance (LoAs) for publishing and printing a Mathematics textbook for RM2.89 million and an Arts Education textbook for RM722,045.

At the same time, an LoA has been accepted by its indirectly-owned subsidiary The Malaya Press Sdn Bhd (TMP) from the MoE for the publication and printing of a Chinese Language textbook, worth RM2.92 million.

The three deals are for a duration of two years, from March 9, 2018, to Dec 31, 2020.

The deals would not have any material effect on the earnings and net assets of the group for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2018, as SSB and TMP are expected to supply the first tranche of the RM3.94 million agreements in the first and second quarters of the financial year ending Aug 31, 2019.

"In this regard, the contracts are only expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2019, onwards, during the duration of the contracts," it said.
