Kuwait,Turkey : Limak bags infrastructure deal from PAHW

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has awarded a infrastructure deal to Limak Holding.

The agreement covers Limak would build, complete, and maintain 3,260 land plots for the authority.

The work of Limak on the $153.1m (KWD45.9m) South Abdullah Al-Mubarak housing project is expected to span 730 days.

The project is one of Kuwait's largest residential schemes with 5,201 units, of which 2,346 are part of Phase 1.

Contract works comprises of road networks, parking lots, sewage systems, and rainwater drainage systems.

In addition, a telephone network, road lighting, a 250-gallon irrigation tank, and power cable placement are comprised within the deal.

Commenting on the contract, Melek Guvener, tendering and cost control director at Limak Holding, said: "We are honoured to have been selected by the [PAHW] to implement the South Abdullah Al-Mubarak housing project, and are proud to continue to play a prominent role as a trusted contractor in the community."
Apart from the international airport's new terminal, the work of Limak in Kuwait covers the construction of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, and the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak Housing project.

The airport, Worth $4.2bn (KWD1.27bn), is being established by Limak and local construction company, Kharafi National.

The two of the firms secures the construction agreement, following offering the lowest bid of $4.34bn (KWD1.3bn) in 2015.

The Emir of Kuwait, HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdo an launched the project in May 2017.
A credit was inked by Limak this February to help finance the expansion of Kuwait International Airport.

The $830.6m (KWD249.2m) deals were ratified with two local banks and would be utilized to construct the new terminal.

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) and Kuwait Finance House (KFH) would each offer $411.2m (KWD124.6m) to finance the construction of the terminal.

It is anticipated that the terminal would manage 25 million passengers yearly after completion, and accommodate all aircraft types through 51 gates and stands.
