This came during the signing ceremony of the gas investment contract associated with the fields of Nasiriyah and Gharraf with Baker Hughes / General Electric Company with a capacity of 200 cubic meters per day.

He added that this contract represents an important addition to the gas sector in Dhi Qar province in particular and for Iraq in general. Baker Hughes, one of the important arms of GE, will work to optimize the gas associated with Al Gharaf and Nasiriyah. The two fields are more than (200) million standard cubic feet of gas per day, through development using the latest equipment, technology and fast technology in the world.

"The project will also provide more than 1000 tons of liquid gas per day and more than 900 cubic meters of condensate, as well as providing more than 500 jobs. We also pointed to the need to build residential and recreational complexes and provide services to the people of the governorate. Dhi Qar.

"This contract will not be the last," he said. "There are many projects on the way through which we aim to develop the oil industry, optimize investment of national wealth and increase the revenues from it in support of the national economy."

"This project is the first of its kind to be built on the basis of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Finance (EPCF) of the Ministry of Oil and will support the development of the Integrated Natural Gas Complex in Nasiriyah," said Rami Kassem, director of Baker Hughes in the Middle East and North Africa. It will then be expanded to become a complete LNG facility that will invest 200 million standard cubic feet per day of dry gas, liquefied gas and condensate. The project will support dry gas power plants to generate high energy efficiency. The project will also reduce the amount of associated gas lost in the fields of Nasiriyah and Al Gharaf and will occupy the workforce in the region.

The signing ceremony was attended by agents, inspector general, general directors, ministry officials and the media.
