Spain : Indra is awarded two outsorcing contracts in colombia for the value of $26 million(USD)

Publish Date : 26-Mar-2012

Indra, the top IT multinational in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe and Latin America, has been awarded two outsourcing contracts with the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) and the SAYP Consortium, two social bodies of the Colombian government, for a total amount of more than $26 million.

The first project, a temporary joint venture with the local telecommunications company, is for the global outsourcing of the technological infrastructure (table of services, e-mail, video conferencing, application and database administration, security, data centre and LAN-WAN-Voice IP communications) for a period of three years. It also includes the technological renewal of the ICBF\'s entire platform in Colombia, which provides coverage to more than 9,500 users in over 300 cities.

The ICBF is a body that forms part of the Administrative Body for Social Prosperity. It was created in 1968 to address issues such as nutritional deficiency, family disintegration and instability, or abandoned children. Today, more than ten million Colombians receive its services.

On the other hand, the contract with SAYP, a consortium made up of the Fiduprevisora and Fiducoldex fiduciaries to administer the Colombian health system\'s funds, is to supply hardware and software and to manage all the entity\'s application and support for a period of five years. It is a highly strategic project since the SAYP Consortium was recently created to manage the Solidarity and Guarantee Fund (FOSYGA), which is a project backed by the Colombian Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which destines its resources to health investments.

Both entities will benefit from a highly efficient management model that makes it possible to optimise resources and reduce costs, while providing service quality improvements. In addition, the expanded coverage, scope and security of IT services will facilitate the development of both entities according to the country\'s needs in relevant fields such as family support policies, the protection of minors and the management of health resources.

Through these contracts, Indra is able to consolidate its positioning as a strategic IT service provider for large corporations and strengthen its presence in Colombia. The company\'s most relevant projects in this field include the management and operation of Prisa\'s IT area throughout the world, as well as the development and support of Endesa\'s corporate and management systems in Spain and Latin America. In addition, the IT company has recently been awarded the operation and maintenance of all the basic services, systems and hardware infrastructure for the Colombian company Ecopetrol, which is the fourth largest oil company in Latin America, as well as the management and operation of the systems platform for Mexico\'s Tax Administration Service (SAT).
