United Kingdom : Mott MacDonald appoints Andrew Campbell as geotechnical practice leader for Australia and New Zealand

Mott MacDonald has appointed Andrew Campbell as geotechnical practice leader for Australia and New Zealand. Based in Auckland, New Zealand, he will be responsible for the leadership, development and growth of the consultancys geotechnical team across Australasia as well as project delivery.

Andrew has 25 years experience of working on a wide range of civil, mining and geotechnical projects globally, including Riyadh Metro Lines 1 and 2 in Saudi Arabia where he led on the investigation, assessment of ground conditions and geotechnical design for 67km of new metro. Andrew was also the geotechnical lead for the Auckland rail electrification project, which involved the design and construction of over 3,500 foundations for the overhead lines. He joins Mott MacDonald from AECOM, where he was most recently practice area lead for ground engineering across Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: I originally started my career as a graduate with Mott MacDonald in the UK so its great to re-join the company. Mott MacDonald has an incredible culture which helps us to provide the very best solutions and sustainable outcomes for our clients. Im looking forward to getting started on complex projects worldwide and developing a local team that will have the opportunity to work on these projects.

Shaun Barrett, Mott MacDonalds general manager for New Zealand, added: Andrews technical experience will be invaluable as we aim to cement our expertise in delivering major infrastructure projects, both across Australia and New Zealand and internationally.

Mott MacDonald opened its doors in Australasia seven years ago and has experienced rapid growth in the region. Some of the consultancys current geotechnical projects include Cross River Rail in Queensland and providing tender advice on several water infrastructure projects in Auckland.
