Kazakhstan : Kazakhstan to hold the second international tenders on RES in October

In October this year Kazakhstan will hold the second international tenders on renewable energy sources. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Energy Makhambet Dosmukhambetov.

The Minister noted that the preparatory work has already begun.

Preparations are beginning for the autumn session of auctions, which are planned for October this year, measures are being taken to improve the auction system, Makhambet Dosmukhambetov said at a summit on renewable energy in Astana.

It should be noted that most recently Kazakhstan held the first international electronic tenders on renewable energy sources.

Bidding has revealed great interest, on the part of both local and international participants. The auction saw participation of 42 companies from six countries, such as: Russia, France, Bulgaria, Turkey, China and Kazakhstan.

Following the trades, the tariffs for wind power plants were reduced by 20%, small hydropower plants - by 23%, solar stations by 25.5%. 19 companies were able to sign contracts with the single buyer of RES power for 15 years, for a total capacity of 194 MW.
