Publish Date : 02-Jul-2018

On June 27, 2018, during the World Nuclear Exhibition organized in Paris, Bureau Veritas and ASE (Engineering division of ROSATOM), signed the Memorandum of Understanding covering the establishment of the strategic partnership for the development of a digital platform to enhance the efficiency of regulatory Oversight of Nuclear Power Plant and other industrial facilities.

The main objective of the Memorandum is to investigate together the development of a digital platform covering conformity assessment and regulatory oversight of the international NPP projects where VVER technology is promoted (Finland, Hungary, Turkey, Egypt, India, China and other countries), as well as to review the opportunity to extend this platform to other Russian domestic nuclear projects and to other non-nuclear engineering projects.

Both companies have already implemented advanced development based on Dassault Systmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which will facilitate their cooperation. With this agreement, we are establishing a strategic partnership with Bureau Veritas, the world leader in certification, testing and control activities with a view to develop a digital platform for all the phases of the NPP life cycle. Digital interaction with inspection and supervisory bodies within the unified digital platform will significantly improve the transparency, speed and efficiency of certification and licensing processes. The integration of our efforts will allow us to create the innovative technologies to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the NPPs in the world market. says Mr. Ivan BORISOV, Senior Vice President Business Development, ASE.

For Laurent KUENY, Vice President Strategy, Bureau Veritas Group: This cooperation is a very significant step in Bureau Veritas Strategy to digitalize conformity assessment and regulatory oversight as part of asset integrity management, in particular for the nuclear industry. Its international nuclear expertise conjugated with a strong local presence will allow Bureau Veritas to support companies during the procurement, construction and operation phases of what will become the largest fleet in the world.
