Publish Date : 10-Apr-2012
Lockheed Martin announced that it has been awarded a contract worth $1.05 billion from the US Navy to supply more than 200 digital cockpits, integrated systems and sensors.
Under a five-year contract, Lockheed Martin will provide 62 digital cockpits to MH-60S Sierra aircrafts and the other munitions to MH-60R Romeo helicopters.
“This contract award ensures uninterrupted, on-time deliveries of the MH-60R and MH-60S helicopter to the U.S. Navy fleet. Plus the multi-year structure, versus an annual contract, allows us to provide our customer with more than 10 percent savings annually, surpassing Pentagon cost predictions,” said Dan Spoor, Lockheed Martin’s vice president of aviation.
