Publish Date : 10-Apr-2012

Raytheon declared that it has been awarded a contract worth $96.1 million to supply Paveway IV precision guided bombs.

Under the contract, Raytheon will deliver Paveway IV precision guided bombs to the UK Army.

The company didn’t mention the number of munitions it will supply to the Army.

Since 2008, the British Air Force has used Paveway munitions and more than 1,000 have been installed in aircrafts.

“More than 1,000 have been used in combat since the type entered use in November 2008. We’re nearing 100% reliability,” said Terence Marsden, Paveway IV program chief engineer at Raytheon.
