United Kingdom : VODAFONE UK launches GBP 50 MILLION programme to refurbish stores

A 3-year GBP 50 million programme has been introduced by Vodafone UK in a move to refurbish its 380 UK stores to develop a modern services-led design similar to the model adopted by flagship Apple stores.
The company is scaling back the traditional banks of payment tills in favour of payments through a tablet held by staff walking around and interacting with customers.
Shops will provide more seating and include stands in the middle of floors where visitors can test top-selling devices.
“One staff member would be trained in a maitre d\' role to help direct customers,” said Gopalan, consumer director at Vodafone UK.
