JAGGAER, the worlds largest independent spend management company, announces that GEDORE, a leading global provider of premium tools, has successfully implemented JAGGAERs eProcurement platform and Contract Management solution to optimize and automate the procurement of indirect materials.
With more than 16,000 products, GEDORE offers the widest range of tools of any other privately-owned manufacturer in Europe, and the company is represented in 70 countries worldwide.
GEDORE required a digital solution that could enable its global procurement network to process purchase orders for C-parts and services more efficiently, and improve contract management. By optimizing its transactional processes, GEDORE has already benefited significantly from increased transparency and efficiency in Procurement, and can now concentrate on pushing further digitalization within the company.
During phase one of the optimization project, GEDORE focused on restructuring and digitalizing its transactional processes. Within months of implementation, roughly 60% of purchase orders for indirect materials are being processed via the JAGGAER platform, and the number is increasing. Buyers can now submit free-text or catalog orders, which are then transferred automatically to the companys Infor ERP system.
GEDORE has also achieved improved oversight of its contracts with the JAGGAER Contract Management tool, which also features a unique function that monitors the effects of currency fluctuations. If the exchange rate fluctuates to a trigger point, GEDORE and its suppliers can renegotiate prices and terms. GEDORE has already benefited from the increased efficiency and transparency in purchase order and contract management for indirect materials, and plans to expand its digital solution with additional JAGGAER modules in the future.
Aside from our ERP system, we had little additional software support in procurement. Our purchase order processes for indirect material were almost entirely paper-based and we processed an average of 10,000 purchase orders manually each year, which cost us significant time and effort. We wanted to modernize our procurement processes, and with the JAGGAER solution, we have been able to optimize the entire purchase order workflow, reduce inventory within the category of C-materials, and establish a complete overview of all our contracts in the Contract Management tool, explains Marc Frantzen, Strategic Purchasing Manager at GEDORE.
