China : Shanghai Keolis bags 5 year operations and maintenance contract

Songjiang Tramway has awarded a five-year operations and maintenance contract to Shanghai Keolis.
This new network situated in the south-west of Shanghai, covers two lines (T1 and T2) with 46 stations and a total length of 31km to facilitate the day to day mobility of theSongjiang districts 1.8 million residents.
Opening of this network has been scheduled in two phases, wherein the first 13.9km and its 20 stations would be opened on December 25, and the second is expected in mid-2019.
On daily basis, the tram system would likely carry around 170,000 passengers, operating 30 Alstom Citadis at 10 minutes headways when the network first opens.
Services which would be operated from 5am to 11pm, will connect to Line 9 of Shanghais metro and to a high speed train service.
Keolis International CEO Bernard Tabary said, The Songjiang Tram project is another important milestone for Shanghai Keolis in this enduring partnership between Keolis Group and Shanghai Shentong Metro Group to better address and support growing urban mobility needs in China.
