South Africa : ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI signs a deal with FUJITSU for SAP migration

AngloGold Ashanti - a gold mining firm has signed a five-year deal with Fujitsu to host and manage its SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and the deal forms part of its broader OneERP plan to migrate from around 30 different ERP systems across the world over to a single instance of SAP in a project which is being led by Accenture. The value of the Fujitsu deal was not revealed.
With various acquisition across the world, AngloGold has grown substantially and due to hike in the value of gold recently it has flourished in its business.
Since 2009, the company has been planning its OneERP strategy. The company arose out of Project One, which is a business process improvement project aiming to coordinate business processes all over the company. However, this had been affected by the various ERP systems currently operated by the AngloGold.
