Samoa Contracts

The chief contributors to the economy of Samoa are agriculture, fishing, tourism, and capital flows from abroad. Agriculture employs two-thirds of the labour force and furnishes 90% of exports. The agricultural products of the islands that are important export commodities are cocoa, coffee, coconuts, bananas, yams and taro. Industries in Samoa are those manufacturing building materials and making automobile parts. Foreign reserves are in a relatively healthy state, the external debt is stable, and inflation is low. Major exportable items of the country are food items, cocoa, manufactures, and fish. Important importable items of the country are capital goods and food items. Samoas main trading partners are the US, other Pacific Islands as well as Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
