Publish Date : 16-Aug-2019

BMT and Allan Webb Ltd announce the successful retention of the Ministry of Defence’s Handbook Management Contract.

The contract will be delivered over five years with an option to extend by a further year, and Allan Webb will be providing documentation for a range of naval vessels, from submarines and destroyers to survey ships. They will be supported by BMT, a leading subject matter expert in naval engineering, naval architecture and technical documentation.

The Handbook Management Contract involves the maintenance, revision and amendment of over 6,500 publications that support the upkeep of all in service Royal Navy Warships, Royal Fleet Auxiliaries, support craft, shore stations, dockyards and munition depots.

Establishing close bonds with DE&S through collaboration and teamwork has been a fundamental aspect of our operations through the years, commented Steve Rigsby, Managing Director of Allan Webb Limited. We are delighted that the retention of this contract will allow us to continue this facet of our longstanding support of the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary in providing these essential services.

Our teams working on the contract in Barrow-in-Furness and Stonehouse undertake exemplary work due to their expert knowledge of marine engineering and the needs of the end user. This depth of knowledge and experience has enabled us to establish a successful apprenticeship scheme, developing young engineers to help support the contract and the rest of the business.
