United States : PARSONS gets state procurement office

Recently, the Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program have opened an office in Milford’s Parsons Government Center, announced Mayor Benjamin Blake and Stephen MacKenzie, executive director of the Southeastern CT Enterprise Region. Main objective of the Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance Program is to provide marketing and procurement assistance to Connecticut businesses interested in selling their goods or services to federal, state or local governments.
A statewide program, the Procurement Technical Assistance Program is administered by the Southeastern CT Enterprise Region, that serves all cities and towns in Connecticut. It comes as a free service funded by federal and state dollars. Statewide program director Lisa Wood, said, “The Milford location provides a great opportunity to reach businesses in the area who want to pursue government contracts, and is a great complement to our offices located in New Haven, Rocky Hill and New London.”
Welcoming the program to the city, Director of the Milford Office of Economic and Community Development Julie Nash, said, “This is a phenomenal growth opportunity for small business throughout Milford and the region.” Frank Dixon will be the counselor in charge of the new location. He began his professional career with 20-plus years in the U.S. Army as an Air Defense leader. The office will remain open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
