Ghana : FINANCE MINISTRY's PSCM DEPT. launches website on government procurement services

The Finance Ministry's Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) Department has released its website, www.ggps.gov.gh, designed to boost accountability, transparency and efficiency in government business and procurement services.
The website will offer information, verification and confirmation on purchase of physical goods, products and capital assets that the government will use.
Themed "the use of electronic platform as a tool to facilitate effective and efficient performance of government procurement and supply chain management," the event, gathered public and state agencies to raise awareness about the website.
During the launch in Accra, Dr Tett Afottey-Walters, the Director of PSCM, said the website also aims to enhance government efforts at reaching out to local enterprises.
He said that the website also plans to advertise tender documents that were raised across government businesses.
He added that prospective suppliers could download the forms online and file them directly with the relevant ministries for contracts.
Dr Tett Afottey-Walters, said : "The PSCM would also engage suppliers and potential suppliers who are determined to do business with the government to develop ways to access business documents to ensure that local suppliers and contractors have access to government businesses."
