Nepal : LUFTHANSA GROUP companies give presentations to turn around NAC

In order to offer consultancy and management services to boost the performance of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) as well as its operational efficiency, Germany's Lufthansa Consulting and German Aviation Capital have given detailed presentations to the Finance Ministry.
The government had invited the two companies, which are owned by the Lufthansa Group, in response to their proposals to restructure the national flag carrier. State officials said that a five-member team from the firms gave a "convincing" presentation before Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat, Tourism Minister Deepak Chandra Amatya and secretaries from the ministries.
They added that further talks on their proposals would be held between the Ministries of Finance and Tourism and the NAC.
An official at the Finance Ministry said, "Particularly, the modality to be adopted to induct them at the NAC would be discussed. As the government should abide by the prevailing laws and regulations while inducing any foreign firm at a public enterprise, the ministries will hold discussion whether it is possible to endorse the plan directly by the Cabinet or the Public Procurement Act (PPA) should be amended."
