India : MJUNCTION SERVICES wins contract from State Govt. for e-procurement

Mjunction Services Limited, a partnership between Tata Steel and SAIL has won a unique contract from the Chhattisgarh government to handle e-procurement of all its state departments for the next 5 years, starting 1st July, 2015.
Estimated to generate transactions of more than Rs 50,000 crore in five years, the deal, is the first initiative of this kind by any state government.
More important, it sets a template for more such e-procurement deals to be farmed out in future by other state governments.
The government of Chhattisgarh issues nearly 30,000 tenders per year. With the state government transactions reaching roughly over Rs 10,000 crore per year, mjunction will possibly handle some Rs 50,000 crore worth of transactions in the next 5 years.
CEO & MD of mjunction services, Viresh Oberoi, said, "It is an extremely progressive step taken by the Chhattisgarh government. Apart from end to end e-procurement of all government departments involving over 5,000 users, it will also involve business analytics. We received the work order on June 30, 2015."
