Statoil, the leading Norwegian multinational oil and gas firm, has granted NOK 1.6 billion worth of a number of contracts, for marine operations, construction and engineering, procurement and construction of an unmanned wellhead platform, in addition to the improvements to the Oseberg Field Center.

The company, with headquarters in Stavanger, has awarded almost NOK 400 million worth of contracts to Technip Norway intended for pipe installation work at John Sverdup and Oseberg Vestflanken 2.

Statoil has granted NOK 200 million worth of contracts to Ocean Installer for marine construction and installation at Oseberg Vestflanken 2, John Sverdup and Gine Krog.

Statoil has awarded contract worth NOK 800 million to Hareema Fabrication Group for managing the engineering, procurement and construction works of the unmanned wellhead platform at the Oseberg Vestflanken 2.

Aibel, on the other hand, will be responsible for the management of the engineering, procurement and construction of the unmanned wellhead platform at the Oseberg Field Centre as part of NOK 200 million worth of order.

According to the development strategy for the Oseberg Vestflanken 2, there will be construction of a new unmanned wellhead platform with 10 slots of well, and the move will involve reutilization of the two operational subsea wells as well.

There will be installation of a new pipeline to direct the well stream to the Oseberg Field Center, and the Center will ensure remote management of the wells.

Statoil hopes that the development of the field will facilitate provisions for 110 million barrels of oil equivalent, and will ensure profitability even if there is poor situation related to oil prices.
