Nigeria : Government to procure N209M transformers to boost Katsina's power supply

Katsina State government has proposed the procurement of 63 units of transformers worth N209million.
According to a breakdown of the amount, each of the transformer would be procured at the cost of a little above N3.3million.
Accompanied by his local government and chieftaincy affairs counterpart, Abdulkadir Zakka, the state commissioner for Information, Hamza Brodo, said the transformers would help enhance the state's power supply.
He said the plan to buy the transformers was announced at the end of the regular executive council meeting.
Brodo did not disclose the specification of the transformer to be bought, but he hinted that the plan was in line with the restoration agenda aimed "at replacing damaged transformers"
He said, "The transformers will boost power supply to the state", adding that it would be distributed across the state.
