Nigeria : Kaduna earmarks N2.55B for CCTV camera, drone procurement

In order to provide adequate security cover in the state next year, the Kaduna State Government has set aside over N2.55 billion for the procurement of CCTV cameras and drones.
The governmetn earmarked over N1.5 billion of the amount to procure and install CCTV cameras in strategic areas of the state, to decrease crime.
The figure is contained in the states 2017 budget document presented to the state House of Assembly, currently.
"The N1.5 billion is for procurement and distribution of CCTV cameras for monitoring and surveillance towards reducing criminal activities within the metropolis and securing the state."
The government has also assigned N265 million to procure drones "to identify locations of armed bandits in forest reserves across the state."
