India,Netherlands : Accel Partners-backed Cogoport to establish digital freight corridor in Netherlands

Accel Partners backed Cogoport, a digital freight logistic start-up, to set up digital freight corridor of the world in order to allow traders in India to connect to the European market using Netherlands as gateway.
On Wednesday, Cogoport inked a letter of intent (LOI) with the minister of infrastructure and water management of Netherlands. The signing was held in the presence of ministers of both countries along with representatives from the city and port of Rotterdam.
Initially, discussion on the project was held at a Mumbai event called the Indo-Dutch Forum on Smart & Sustainable Port Led Development. The event centred around best practices to develop ports to be technologically savvy and also being sustainable and eco-friendly simultaneously.
Cogoport, recently raised nearly around Rs 50 crore from Accel Partners for its product development and global expansion. This deal was claimed to be one of the first major deals in Indias nascent digital freight logistic startup space.
Now, Cogoport is all set to expand its footprint across the globe through their office in The Netherlands and also aims at serving a larger set of customers in the European market. This development would come as one more significant move in Cogoports bid to make the freight booking process hassle free by leveraging technology.
